Great site... I hope it is still frequented. I have been singing professionally for about 25 years.. have gone from rock to country blues and now enjoying the challenge and musicality of jazz. My problem is when I change from jazz to a 'heavier' style, say in a day or so of each genre.. I find my throat feels 'swollen' and I have difficulty in producing the sounds and with the same strength. Pitching occasionally becomes a problem. The ENT put me on steroids but these were a terrible experience, so no longer taking them. She offered no other alternative. What is the suggested course of action.. I'm Australian and about 2 hours from a SLS teacher ( just checked), so very difficult to have lessons frequently. Smile

Hi Wendy!

I'm so sorry to hear about your problem. That can really be frustrating. I would recommend that you find out if there is an SLS teacher in your time zone who does internet lessons. I love lessons on the internet. They are in my opinion much better than phone lessons. If not, then another option might be for you to purchase the course called "Singers Advantage" and work on your own. I haven't found self-study lessons to be 100 percent advantageous for everyone; so if possible it's best to find a good teacher and build a healthy technique.

Sincerely,

Guy Babusek
